Addiction knows no boundaries

Addiction knows no boundaries. There is no rule book that dictates who will use and not be able to stop or who can try something and walk away unscathed. My experience was that there were somethings that I could do with or without but when it came to meth, I was all in right away. I spent three of my four years of high school addicted to meth. I dabbled in other substances but meth was the kicker for me.

I introduced kiddos from all walks of life to meth. I had the most diverse group of addicted friends that you can imagine. My point? Addiction can happen to your family. It can happen to your kids. We have to be vigilant and aware of trends that are effecting our children. I wrote the article below to give parents a few tips that I wish my mother would have had.

My mother was a single mother who worked second shift. I went to the hospital on prom night so that she could see my dress because she had to work that night. It was not her fault that she was home while I was at school and at work when I was home. It was my choice to say yes the first time I was offered drugs. However, I truly believe that had just a few things been different, my life would have turned out completely differently.
